Frequently asked questions

The questions people actually email us, answered plainly.

What is a Fix-It Kit?

It's a kit for one specific problem: one small thing a night, and it opens on your phone the minute you pay. You buy it once. The adult kits run 30 nights. The three kits about young kids run 14. On the last night it ends, and everything in the kit is yours to keep.

What do I actually get?

Three things, and they open on your phone the moment you pay:

Your order page and your order email both have a link that opens all of it in your browser, nothing to unpack. Nothing on night one waits on a printer.

Do I need a printer? How do I open it on my phone?

No printer needed. After you pay, tap Open your kit on the order page, or the same link in your order email. The kit book opens as a PDF you can save to your phone, or as a page you can write in. Your answers stay saved in that phone's browser. No app, no account. The print pack is there for the day you want the wall chart on the fridge.

Am I signing up for something? Will I be charged again?

No. You pay once and that's the end of it. There's no subscription, nothing auto-renews, and there's no recurring charge. The nightly emails are part of what you already paid for.

Is this therapy?

No. A Fix-It Kit is a set of small things to do about one specific problem, one night at a time. It's for building yourself up, not for treating anything.

When do the emails start?

Right away. Two land as soon as your payment goes through. The first is a setup email called Start Here, which takes two minutes and tells you what to do first. The second is Night 1, your first night's email. After that it's one a night. If nothing turns up in a few minutes, check your spam folder, then email us.

What if I miss a night?

Nothing breaks. Missing a night doesn't reset anything, and nothing here scolds you for it. The next email arrives as normal and you pick it up when you can.

Each email ends with two buttons. Tap Too light and the full-size version of that night arrives straight away. Tap Too heavy and the smaller version arrives. Just right? Nothing to tap. Only that night changes, and tomorrow's arrives on its own.

How do I stop the emails?

There's a link at the bottom of every kit email that stops them. Nothing you downloaded goes away. Stopping the emails only ever stops the emails, never your access.

Can I get a refund?

Fix-It Kits come with the Finish-It Guarantee. Do the nights, fill in the before-and-after page, and if your last-night score is no better than your first, email us within 60 days of buying and we'll refund you in full. You keep the kit. We only ask that you actually finished it. The guarantee is for people the kit didn't help, not for people who never opened it.

Ebooks are different. They're delivered the second you pay and can't be returned, so ebook sales are final.

Printed books are made to order for you, so we can't take change-of-mind returns on those either. Say one arrives damaged in transit, or with a genuine printing defect. Email us within 14 days of delivery, with a photo. We'll replace it free, or refund it if we can't replace it.

If a file won't open or the wrong thing arrives, tell us and we'll fix it. The full detail is in our Terms, and nothing in there takes away rights the law already gives you.

Where is my download?

Your download link is emailed to you the moment your payment is confirmed. It's on the order confirmation page too. If it hasn't arrived, check your spam folder first, then email us at hello@masterfulmindsbooks.com and we'll resend it. Keep that email. You can re-download any time.

What format are the ebooks?

Full-color PDFs. They look good on a tablet, a phone or a computer. Print pages at home if you like. They're for your own use, so please don't resell or share the file.

How long does a printed book take?

Our printed books are made to order, so allow time for printing on top of shipping. Delivery times depend on where you are, and you'll see the options at checkout. Those times are estimates, not guarantees. We ship worldwide.

Is paying on your site safe?

Yes. Payments are handled by Stripe, one of the biggest payment providers in the world. We never see or store your card details.

Do you have a discount code?

Got a promo code? There's a box for it at the secure checkout. The discount comes off before you pay. Codes turn up in our emails now and then.

Which one is right for whom?

The books go by age. YOU'RE HERE is the first one, read aloud from day one. LITTLE SPARKS and LITTLE FLAMES are for a small one. YOU'RE READY and RISE UP tell the same lessons as comics for a young reader. THE CODE and THE RISE are the full handbooks for a teenager.

And if it's for you. The Fix-It Kits are the workbooks written for an adult. The evening that disappeared into your phone. The loop that starts when the house goes quiet. The result you didn't want. That first one is THE DOOMSCROLL KIT. There are 20 kits, and each one takes a single problem. Six are written for a parent, and the three about young kids run 14 nights instead of 30.

There's no general handbook for adults yet. The two books we do have are written for teenagers: THE CODE for boys, THE RISE for girls. We'd rather tell you that than sell you one and let you find out.

How do I know any of it is true?

Read our evidence page. It lists the studies our books rest on, with the number of people each one was tested on. It names eleven things we tell you are oversold, and it admits that three of those we have not re-verified ourselves. Our sourcing for them is second-hand, and the page says so on the card. There's a section on what we don't know yet. If you find something wrong there, tell us and we'll correct it and date the correction.
